Test post

Decided to test out the Blogger app for Android. It is very basic. Probably will not use it very much

Call of Duty Elite?

So I went to Game Stop yesterday to pick up my copy of Uncharted 3. While I was there, I decided to put the gift card my girlfriend recently picked up for me to use and snagged the new Sony wireless headset for my PS3. After getting home with the box, I started reading the features and realized for $100, the headset doesn't support true 7.1 surround sound. Instead it has virtual 7.1 surround sound. After a few seconds if thought, I decided to take that headset back and pre-order Call of Duty Elite with the gift card. The way I see it, for $150, I could get a headset with true surround sound and get more enjoyment out of it. With Christmas right around the corner, I figured a Turtle Beach headset would probably make more sense plus I can't pre-order Elite at Christmas. So I will wait on a new headset and I still have credit left over on the gift card.

Anyways, back to the original topic of Call of Duty Elite. Now that I have broken down and picked this up, how many of you will be subscribing to Elite or will be getting it with the Hardened Edition of MW3? What sold you on picking up Elite? For me, I think it was the the year's worth of DLC did it for me. I have always had issue with the cost of DLC and now that it seems most content will cost around $15, this will save me money in the long run. I guess we will see if this pays off over the course of the next year.

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V will be making it's world premiere today. Here is a link to the live stream from IGN. Less than 3 hours until we get to see where the series will take us next.

A little bit on LittleBigPlanet 2

So I have been playing LittleBigPlanet 2 lately. The more and more I play, the more I can't help but feel that the story that Media Molecule added to the game kind of ruins the game for me. Maybe it is the amount of talking at the beginning of the level or the constant stream of pop up text boxes as you play through the level. I feel like it breaks up the game too much. When I played the first LittleBigPlanet, you were left to your own devices with the level. You were able to go through the level with minimal interruptions knowing that you needed to get to the end while collecting items and bubbles for points. Now I feel like I am being harassed constantly to get through the level to continue the story. Maybe it is just me, but it definitely gets frustrating. I have also found that playing this game with at least one other person also makes the game much more enjoyable. I have been playing this with my girlfriend and it has proven to be much more fun as a co-op game than just a single player adventure. It is also one of the few games that we can play together as more and more games turn to online co-op instead of couch or local co-op. Ah, another topic to discuss sometime, co-op gaming. Hopefully we will get more time to go through more levels and maybe the interruptions will dwindle leaving us to complete the levels in peace rather than in pieces.

Another attempt at blogging on gaming

So I have decided that I would like to give blogging on my gaming experiences again. My main problem is time. I no longer have the time I once had to go through a game and be able to write about my experiences while the thoughts are fresh in my mind. Hopefully I will be able to dedicate more time to this and gaming to keep my posts fairly consistent and updated. There are a lot of new games coming out and the holiday season is upon us so new gadgets and gear will be coming out and I will try my best to stay on top of that as well as posting my thoughts. I am currently going back and playing a few games since my PS3 decided to take another crap on me and I had to send it in for service with no back up in over a year. Which reminds me, I really need to get my back ups scheduled again to prevent this from happening. Anyways, here is a quick list of the topics I would like to start out with and hopefully I will stick to it and keep the posts coming.

  • Sony's new wireless headset for the PS3 (planning on picking this up here in the next month.)
  • Batman: Arkham City
  • Battlefield 3
  • Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
  • Assassin's Creed: Revelations
  • LittleBigPlanet 2 (Old but I am just now getting around to playing through it.)
Those are just some quick ideas off the top of my head. Like I said before, I have some games I am playing through now that I never got around to and there are plenty of them. Maybe I will get some friends in on this blog and have more people discussing more topics to provide more information and other points of view. Let's see how it goes.
